Friendship and Heroines

I know I’ve said this before but when I meet up with friends, which can’t happen nearly as often as I would like, I am reminded of how precious friendship is and how lucky I am to have friends I value more than I can possibly express.

Here’s some writing insight requested by Carly from Barrow UK: How do I come up with my heroines?
Here’s a closer look at my latest heroine, Antonia in Master of the Desert.

When I created Antonia I didn’t want her to be downtrodden, or even plain. I wanted Antonia to enjoy all the advantages I can only dream of and to have been spoiled rotten by older brother who brought her up when their parents died.
Having equipped Antonia with a feisty temperament and some useful sporting skills, I sent this stubborn minx on a journey of self-discovery knowing Antonia’s victory would have nothing to do with landing a rich and powerful husband, but would be all about discovering herself and what Antonia was capable of when I pitted her against the hardest man I could conjur up – Sheikh Ra’id of Sinnerbar – the Sword of Vengeance himself.

I hope you enjoy reading about Antonia’s journey as much as I enjoyed writing her story.

And thank you again those of you who have written to me about Laying Down the Law - I really do appreciate your mails :-)

Have a good one, ladies – tomorrow I’ll post an extract from Master of the Desert you won’t find on my site.

Sxx
