Cooking up a storm
The shot cups warming on the back of the Aga are for mulled wine – Minimus’s new speciality – If you’re still standing after 2 of them, you have a stronger constitution than me, Gunga Din.
I realised I had finally gone mad with the food on Christmas day –
An endless stream of hot and cold nibbles to dilute the effect of mulled wine and champagne, was followed by homemade Butternut Squash and Coconut soup; Smoked salmon, prawns and salad; The traditional turkey feast, with poached salmon for James, followed by a long pause for French-style cheese, salad and conversation, finished up by Homemade Pavlova with Brandied fruits and pouring cream – and then of course, coffee, brandy and more chocolates…

Fullsome apologies all round ![]()
Too much food? What do you mean?!
We had a little table for little people…
And a big table for people who were much larger by the time they left it…
Father Christmas came to call…
Even if I couldn’t open up my eyes in time to see him –
Okay, so now you’ve seen me in my jimmies
And even Betty found a quiet spot in which to enjoy her Christmas treat…
May your waistbands stretch as mine do… forever and ever and ever and…
Love to all,
Suexx
