When you’re not exhausted

I have been working like a red-haired freak (now, there’s a surprise) on the first 100 pages of my book – I seem to be averaging around one word a day right now-

Sound familiar to anyone?

I’ll come clean and say there has been rather a lot of enthusiastic editing going on Chez Romance recently and it’s taken time for me to realise that my voice is my voice and can’t be moulded with any success into an alien shape complete with golden corkscrew curls and blushing cheeks – and Mr Spock’s ears, for all I know.

The joy of writing is that all we authors could be given exactly the same storyline and we would all come up with a totally unique take on it and so I have just spent 3 weeks turning my wimp into a wasp – Yay, much more like me, then!

And talking of different approaches – I’ve completely forgotten where we were up to with my back list, but I’m going to be talking about Laying Down the Law next – No, I’m not- that’s way too far ahead – Will find out where we should be and get cracking – just as soon as I’ve written my Word For The Day
