The alpha male has always fascinated me. His seemingly autocratic and heartless behaviour MUST have a cause (his mummy gave his sister the last lollipop, usually)

- The cause of that bad behaviour is always worth investigating within the pages of a book- In fact a romance featuring an alpha male would be flat without it.

Sheikh Shahin is an archetypyal alpha male- tough on the world and on himself. However, at the very moment when the heroine should tell him where he can shove his epiphany- that he loves her- she is his soul mate- he cannot live without her etc etc -she does something completely different.

I think the most satisfying thing of all writing in this genre is that- in a simliar way to the feminine divine in Dan Brown’s books- woman is shown to be the stronger of the species-

And you can’t beat that, in my opinion
