Birthday Broo-Hoo-Haa!

I should have known chaos would ensue when family offered to prepare one course each…

I’ve managed to cut most of the kitchen chaos out of this shot- but it’s there, believe me!

At least no blood was shed- but then James is a vegetarian ;-)

James prepared the first course- the Gordon Ramsey cook-a-long prawn cocktail with a dash of brandy in the Marie Rose sauce. I have to say it was delicious- but James, having a slightly different idea of portion sizes to everyone else in the world, served it in soup bowls rather than cocktail glasses. 10 out of 10 for taste- and I’m far too grateful because it was sooooo good, to mark you on presentation, James!

Sol’s main course of vegetarian risotto with mushroom, asparagus, onion and pine nuts, was nothing short of historic- and risotto is notoriously hard to cook. This was creamy and fluffy and absolutely delicious.

Rob cooked the pudding- another Gordon Ramsey special- caramelised rhubarb crunchy nut crumble with clotted cream or custard. Oh, yes. Fab-U-Lous.

Sara was responsible for the cake, as well as for the wine and cheese, and Leonie orchestrated everything, including table setting and clearing up- not to mention providing the hats, balloons and more party stuff than we can use in the next ten years- and we LOVE parties!

Oh, and there were a couple of SPECIAL guests…

Hope you had a wonderful weekend too,

Love to all,

Suexx
