On Friday we enjoyed the hospitality of Sue and Andrew in the Laidler club at the magnificently restored (though terminally uncomfortable- at least in the dress circle) Alhambra theatre in Bradford (more knee room, pleeeeease) to see the stage version of Calendar Girls.

The real life Calendar Girls are already triumphant for the massive amount of money and recognition they have raised for Leukaemia Research in memory of Angela Baker’s husband, John, and now the story lives on thanks to the memorable film and the emotion stirring stage show.

It was a brilliant evening with a marvellous cast featuring most memorably, Lynda Bellingham, Patricia Hodge, Sian Phillilps, Elaine C Smith, (Yay, loved your performance, Elaine) Gaynor Faye and Brigit Forsyth. Brilliant.

And now it’s back to an arrogant Italian and a lady who is determined to… er, sort him out
